Descrição: Digoxigenin (DIG) is a steroid found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea and Digitalis lanata. DIG is the steroid component of digoxin, a cardiac glycoside, and can be conjugated onto a variety of biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids) to be detected in further assays (e.g. ELISA). These antibodies can be labeled with dyes, enzymes or fluorescence, directly or secondarily, for visualization and detection.
DIG has an advantage over biotin due to the fact that biotin is an endogenous molecule of living cells and plays a key role in many reactions, which can sometimes lead to false positive results. Because the blossoms and leaves of Digitalis plants are the only natural sources of digoxigenin, binding of the anti-digoxigenin antibody in other biological material is not a consideration.

Descrição: The cannabinoid receptors CB1 (expressed primarily throughout the central nervous system) and CB2 (expressed in peripheral tissues) are members of the seven-transmembrane domain-containing family of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), and are named for their signaling function in response to cannabinoid drugs such as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC). Significant evidence suggests that additional cannabinoid receptors may contribute to the many behavioral, vascular, and immunological effects of agonists such as THC and endogenous cannabinoids. Evidence suggests GPR55 may act as a cannabinoid receptor, although its definition as a bona fide "CB3" receptor remains controversial. GPR55 is highly expressed in large-diameter dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons, and its activation by cannabinoid compounds (THC, JWH015, and anandamide) has been shown to release calcium from IP3-sensitive ER stores. These findings are opposed by evidence that suggests GPR55 is an intrinsic receptor for lysophosphatidylinositol (LPI).

Descrição: The conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) by cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes is the first step in the synthesis of prostanoids. Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) is synthesized from PGH2 by the action of PGD synthase, and its actions in vasodilation and platelet activation are mediated via activation of two identified G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs): DP1 and DP2 (formerly CRTH2). Both DP1 and DP2 receptors are coupled to Gs alpha subunits, resulting in increased adenylyl cyclase activity and cAMP production upon agonist binding. DP1 receptor is expressed moderately in the ileum and weakly in the lung, stomach, and uterus of mice, and weakly in the small intestine of humans. In rodents, expression of PGD synthase and the DP1 receptor is seen in the leptomeninges, where it is believed they play a role in the induction of sleep. The DP1 receptor may also oppose DP2-mediated activation of basophils, eosinophils, and Th2 cells.
