Descrição: Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphatase 1 (FBPase 1) is a member of the FBPase class 1 family. FBPase 1 is a gluconeogenesis regulatory protein, which catalyses the hydrolysis of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate and inorganic phosphate. FBPase 1 can assume an active R-state, or an inactive T-state. FBPase 1 deficiency is inherited as an autosomal recessive disorder mainly in the liver and causes life-threatening episodes of hypoglycemia and metabolic acidosis in newborn infants or young children. FBPase 1 coupled with phosphofructokinase (PFK) is involved in the metabolism of pancreatic islet cells.

It is highly expressed in skeletal and heart muscle and expressed at lower levels in the placenta, liver, kidney and pancreas, with weakly or no expression in the lung. MECR exists as a homodimer, which catalyses the reduction of trans-2-enoyl-CoA to acyl-CoA with chain length from C6 to C16 in an NADPH-dependent manner with preference to medium chain length substrate. MECR may take part in the mitochondrial synthesis of fatty acids.

Descrição: Thymidylate kinase (DTYMK) is a ubiquitous enzyme of about 25 kD which belongs to thymidylate kinase family. DTYMK is important in the dTTP synthesis pathway for DNA synthesis. It participated in the pyrimidine metabolism pathway and dTTP biosynthesis pathway. DTYMK catalyses the conversion of dTMP to dTDP and catalyses the phosphorylation of thymidine 5'-monophosphate (dTMP) to form thymidine 5'-diphosphate (dTDP) in the presence of ATP and magnesium. Structural and functional analyses suggest that the cDNA codes for authentic human dTMP kinase. The mRNA levels and enzyme activities corresponded to cell cycle progression and cell growth stages.

These enzymes have broad substrate specificity ranging from small molecule esters such as phenylester to long chain fatty acid esters and thioesters. They are major determinants of the pharmacokinetic behavior of most therapeutic agents containing an ester or amide bond. CES1 shares the serine hydrolase fold observed in other esterases. CES1 hydrolyses aromatic and aliphatic esters, but has no catalytic activity toward amides or a fatty acyl-CoA ester. CES1 participates in detoxification of drugs such as cocaine and heroin in serum and liver. SIAE is widely expressed with high expression levels in the testis, prostate, and colon. SIAE catalyses N-acetyl-O-acetylneuraminate and H2O to N-acetylneuraminate and acetate. SIAE removes O-acetyl ester groups from position 9 of the parent sialic acid, N-acetylneuraminic acid. SIAE down-regulates B lymphocyte antigen receptor signaling (involving CD22), and is required for immunological tolerance. CPB2 is synthesised by the liver and circulates in the plasma as a plasminogen-bound zymogen by the liver and circulates in the plasma as a plasminogen-bound zymogen. CPB2 cleaves C-terminal arginine or lysine residues from biologically active peptides, such as kinins or anaphylatoxins, in the circulation regulating their activities. CPB2 exhibits carboxypeptidase activity when it is activated by proteolysis at residue Arg92 of the thrombin/thrombomodulin complex.
