Cellular assays have always been a powerful tool in the research lab. They are incredibly versatile, and can be designed to measure virtually any cellular or biochemical function. Deacetylation of the substrate sensitizes the substrate so that, in the second step, treatment with the Fluor de Lys®Developer produces a fluorophore.
